Grains. Mills. Flour.
Classes. Expertise. Community.
The King’s Roost is your Los Angeles source for the best organic flours, local whole grains, grain mills, homesteading classes and is home to the world’s only sourdough bread making class using 100% freshly milled grains.
Spend Valentine’s Day learning to bake together.
Our online sourdough class can be taken anytime, from anywhere.

You’re here because: sourdough, right?
Us, too! At King’s Roost, you can learn how to make sourdough, either at one of our in-person classes in Los Angeles, or our online class, which you can take anywhere. Come back to source all the grains, flours, mills and other tools you’d ever need.
You want the best flour?
It’s not in the supermarket.
You can do better than ultra-processed, non-organic, enriched bleached white flour, no matter what name is on it. Whether you’re making pasta, bread or pizza, getting grains to mill yourself, or want flour that still has all the nutrition still in it, we have it. The King’s Roost has the biggest inventory of Central Milling Organic grains and flours in the US (and if we don’t have it, we can get it in within a week). Come in during open hours to shop in small quantities, ask questions or peruse our library.
For larger, recurring orders, or specialty orders, use our bulk order form to pre-order larger quantities for easy pickup. We can order anything in the Central Milling inventory.

You can learn a lot online for free
Want to learn to make your own flour, create your own sourdough starter, make your own soap from scratch, or convince your chickens to be extra cuddly? We share a lot online with our community, for free. You never know what skills you’ll need in the next power outage or natural disaster.

If you care about what you are eating then this is the place to go to. There is only one such place in LA.

I am a sourdough bread guy, and Kings Roost has high quality flour that makes superior loaves.

I love getting my flour here for sourdough. Wouldn’t buy flour anywhere else.
